Sony PR quotes five `fun facts` about Casino Royale

11-Oct-2006 • Casino Royale

The latest Sony Pictures mailshot has published five "fun facts" about the upcoming James Bond film Casino Royale:

In Casino Royale, James Bond (Daniel Craig) drinks a particular martini… "The Vesper" to create this potent drink take three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet, shake it over ice then add a thin slice of lemon peel.

In addition to Bond’s favourite Aston Martin DB5, a new Aston Martin DBS is featured in Casino Royale. It will be for sale in 2007 in a special finish called "Casino Ice"

Casino Royale shot in many exciting locations around the world. The Bahamas, Czech Republic, Italy and the UK. In Venice, Italy, special permission was granted to the production to allow Bond’s yacht, the Spirit 54, to sail along the Grand Canal between the Accademia and Rialto Bridges, the first time a yacht sailed the Grand Canal for many years.

The set interior of the sinking house in Venice measured 45 ft by 40 ft and was 45 ft high. It was built around the existing indoor tank at Pinewood Studios which was increased to 20 ft so the whole set could sink 16 ft.

The location used in the Bahamas as the Madagascar Construction site was an abandoned hotel site that was under construction 30 years ago, it was used as a location for the 1965 James Bond movie Thunderball
