Pinewood Studios 70th anniversary, time capsule to be buried

A time capsule was buried today (13/10/06) in the ground of Pinewood Studios to mark the studio's 70th anniversary.

Shaun Woodward MP, the minister for Creative Industries & Tourism that placed the capsule, and was accompanied by Michael Grade, Pinewood Shepperton plc's Chairman, and Cheif Executive Ian Dunleavvy.

The capsule will be sealed for 100 years, items including a filmography from 1936 to the present day, the scripts of films being made such as Bourne Ultimatum and Fred Claus, a pair of Anne Robinsons glasses as worn on The Weakest Link, Pinewood merchandise and marketing materials are all contained in the capsule.

Shaun Woodwared also took the opportunity to view the progress being made in rebuilding the 007 stage, which is due for completion in the first quarter of 2007.
