Casino Royale receives a 12A classification in UK

28-Oct-2006 • Casino Royale

The 21st James Bond film Casino Royale has been given a 12A classification, for 'one scene of torture and strong action violence.' Making it the second Bond film to receive this rating, which was first introduced in 2002.

The Irish Film Censor's Office has given Casino Royale a 15A classification in Ireland and the Motion Picture Association of America classified the film a PG-13 in the USA.

Licence To Kill still holds the highest classification for theatrical in the Bond series with a 15 rating (although the unedited Ultimate Edition DVD version of "GoldenEye" was increased to a 15 certificate this year).
