Local TV `stars` out for Preston regional Casino Royale premiere

Stars of Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, and comedy Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps are set to be among the guests for the showing of Casino Royale at the Vue Cinema - reports Preston Today.

Members of the public can buy tickets for the event and see the movie, which stars Daniel Craig, two days before it goes out on general release.

Coronation Street's Samia Smith, Anthony Cotton, and Bill Ward, who play Maria Sutherland, Sean Tully and Charlie Stubbs, along with Will Mellor and Ralf Little, who are characters Gaz and Jonny in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, are among the invited guests.

Also on the list are Ali Bastain, James Sutton and Claire Cooper who play characters Becca Dean, John-Paul McQueen and Jacqui McQueen in the Channel Four soap Hollyoaks.

Vue cinema at The Capitol Centre, Walton-le-Dale, is just one of five across the country holding a celebrity charity screening on November 15, the night after the World Premiere.

Money raised from the event will go to MediCinema, a charity devoted to bringing big screen cinema to hospital-bound patients. It hopes to raise more than Â£60,000 from the previews.

EON Productions and 007 producer Barbara Broccoli said: "MediCinema provides a much- needed escape for the patients.

"We are very happy to be supporting the charity and its special preview screenings of our new Bond film Casino Royale."

The Casino Royale screening will start at 8pm, with doors opening at 7.30pm. Tickets costing Â£10 can be bought online at www.myvue.com or by calling 08712 240 240.
