Die Another Day cruises past $200m at the international box-office

Screen Daily are reporting that "Die Another Day" passed the $200m milestone in international ticket sales on January 13th 2003 after another storming weekend that yielded $8.62m - and another batch of records for distributor Fox International.

Opening in Holland, the picture shunted The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers off top spot with a tremendous $1.45m bow that included previews ($110,000). It was the highest 007 opening of all time in the territory, as well as highest bows for Fox and MGM and the fourth highest industry opening ever.

In Brazil the picture opened on $1.02m including previews ($69,000), which was Fox`s third highest bow of all time and more than double the opening gross of The World Is Not Enough. In Portugal Die Another Day opened on $551,588, which was the highest 007 opening of all time, the highest Fox and MGM opening weekends and the third highest industry bow of all time.

Forthcoming openings include Argentina on Jan 16; Turkey on Jan 17; Bulgaria, Denmark and Romania on Jan 24; Hong Kong on Jan 30; Norway on Jan 31; and Taiwan on Feb 1.
