Caterina Murino has one complaint - her love seen with 007 was too short

Stunning Caterina Murino has only one complaint about her sex scene with Daniel – it was too short, reports The Sun

The 32-year-old Italian brunette plays Solange — the wife of bad guy Dimitrios, who is a two-time loser when Bond beats him at poker then beds his girl.

“Solange isn’t the classical Bond girl,” explains Caterina. “She is not out to kill James, she is just very upset in her life.

“Then one night she meets Bond . . . and has sex with him. We are like two animals. We are not going to be friends, me and James, we are only sexual things.”

The actors had to get comfortable before shooting their big bedroom scene but Caterina says it did not take long to relax.

“Daniel was very nice to me,” she says. “And the director, Martin Campbell, was wonderful. He made us very comfortable.

“We looked at the script for the sex scene and me and Daniel looked at each other and went, ‘Okay, we try, we try.’

“Unfortunately it was very short, but VERY nice.”

The previously unknown actress, originally from Cagliari in Sardinia, is clearly thrilled to be one of Bond’s latest conquests. Smiling, she recalls: “I liked Daniel in his blue swimming trunks — what’s not to like?”

But Caterina is a great admirer of his acting talents too.

“For me the most important thing as an actress was to work with Daniel, he is a huge actor,” she says. “And it was a big surprise to become a Bond girl.

“When I went for the casting I thought an American girl would get the part, not me — a small girl from Sardinia. For me the most important thing is not playing a Bond girl but playing in a huge production.”

Caterina reveals she almost missed out on her big chance when she was injured in a riding accident the day before auditions.

She explains: “I was preparing for an Italian movie and I fell down. I broke a rib on my right side.

“I was in hospital, completely under drugs, but I still went to the casting even though I couldn’t walk. That was unusual, because the Bond girl is always so full of energy!

“But Martin Campbell called me back to go to London and I got the role.”

Caterina started her career as a model after finishing fourth in the Miss Italy contest in 1996. She has appeared in commercials for Mastercard, Swatch and Mercedes Benz.

In 1999 she studied acting in Italy and three years later she started to be offered bit parts in film and TV shows. The actress, who now lives in Paris, will certainly make a lasting impression with Casino Royale — especially with one particular moment.

“I have a beautiful scene where I’m wearing a beautiful green bikini and I ride a beautiful horse on the beach,” she reveals.
