National record set in Sweden for Casino Royale opening weekend

More records have been broken in Europe than ever before for a Bond film.

Casino Royale set a national record in Sweden by taking the highest ever opening weekend box-office for a film rated 15+.

Some 155,832 people attended theatres on the three-day opening weekend in Sweden, out of a total population of 9 million.

The film trumped the previous outing, Die Another Day, which attracted approximately 115,000 people, which also had the advantage of a lower 11+ rating.
