US box-office to cut 57 theatres for Casino Royale, breaks $100 million, Bond takes #1 spot mid-week
According to Box-Office Mojo, Casino Royale will be heading into its third weekend of release in the USA with 57 fewer theatres.
The cut in venues is less than expected, and the film is still estimated to reign in the top two slots at the US box-office due to good word of mouth, strong hold-overs, positive reviews and lack of fresh competition.
Casino Royale will drop from 3,434 to 3,386 theatres starting from today, 1st December 2006.
Despite losing out to animated penguin "Happy Feet" for the illustrious #1 spot at the weekend, "Casino Royale" is out-perfoming its rival during the weekdays.
