Casino Royale stays #1 at the UK box-office

"Casino Royale" earned 5.3 million pounds over the weekend to stay top of the box office for the third and possibly last time - reports Reuters.

Daniel Craig's James Bond has taken 37 million pounds so far, according to Screen International on Tuesday, but the film of Ian Fleming's first 007 novel was beaten to the top in its opening weekend in the United States last month by the animated penguins of "Happy Feet", which opens in Britain on Friday.

In second place was newcomer "Flushed Away", the animated story by the creators of Wallace and Gromit of an upper-crust rat having to learn a different way of life when he is flushed into the sewers of London.

Unchanged in third place was "The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause", with Sacha Baron Cohen's Kazak comedian "Borat" down at fourth from second after five weeks in the charts.

"Deck the Halls" was new at five, the tale of two neighbours falling out after one decorates his house for Christmas so brightly that it can be seen from space.

At six down from four was Jack Black's "Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny" about a newly formed band's theft of a magical guitar pick from a rock and roll museum.

New at seven was romantic comedy "Stranger than Fiction" with Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson about a revenue investigator hearing in his head the details of his life, being narrated by a female voice.

At eight down from five was the latest spin-off from the MTV series: "Jackass: Number Two", while down one place at nine was director Guillermo del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth" about a lonely child creating her own fantasy world in 1940s Spain.

Tenth down from six was Bollywood thriller "Dhoom 2".
