The World Is Not Enough scores the largest UK television audience for Bond

24-Jan-2003 • Bond News

"The World Is Not Enough" was the penultimate film in the "Double-Oh-Heaven" series aired by UK television channel ITV 1. The run started back in 2002 with every film being shown in order - except "You Only Live Twice" (which airs next week).

The Tuesday evening slot proved a winner in the ratings war, where every Bond film shown beat any other program on any channel.

"The World Is Not Enough", which aired this Tuesday, broke the series record by securing the biggest audience to date. An amazing 7.6 million viewers tuned in to watch Brosnan`s third adventure as 007, no doubt sparked by the Bond fever created by "Die Another Day".

The "Double-Oh-Heaven" series concludes next week with "You Only Live Twice", which was skipped in 2002 for an unspecified reason.
