Casino Royale breaks $150 million mark in North America
According to the latest estimates on Box Office Mojo, the new James Bond film "Casino Royale" broke through the $150 million barrier in the USA and Canada on Friday 29th December 2006 after six weeks on release.
The actual figures will be released on Monday, by which time the film will have surpassed that mark thanks to plays in over 1500 venues.
Despite smashing records and
becoming the #1 grossing James Bond film of all time at the global box-office, Casino Royale still lags behind Die Another Day in the USA by the margin of $10 million. It will be a close call if Daniel Craig's debut mission manages to sneak past Brosnan's final outing.
Casino Royale has, to date, taken $305,407,303 at the international box office, for a combined global total of $455,917,303 (based on USA estimates for this weekend).
