Casino Royale loses #1 spot in South Africa after phenomenal success

After raking in a massive R19 247 783 (echoing its phenomenal success in the US and Europe), the new James Bond movie Casino Royale has been bumped from its number one spot on the South African box office by the Martin Scorsese epic, The Departed (Leonardo diCaprio, Jack Nicholson) - reports Screen Africa.

Sci-fi thriller Déjà vu (Denzel Washington) is in third place, followed by the animated Flushed Away and the live action/CGI children’s tale, Charlotte’s Web. The animated penguin caper, Happy Feet, is performing well, having amassed R11 181329 in five weeks.
