Casino Royale production designer Peter Lamont nominated for Art Directors Guild award

The Art Directors Guild (ADG) today announced nominations in eight categories of Production Design for motion pictures, television and commercials competing in ADG's 11th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards for 2006. Announcement of nominations was made today by ADG's Chairman Tom Walsh and Awards Chairs Tom Wilkins and Scott Meehan. Deadline for final voting by members of ADG is February 15. Black-tie ceremonies announcing winners will take place Saturday, February 17, from the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event will be hosted by Steven Weber ("Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") - reports Market Wire.

As previously announced, ADG's Outstanding Contributions to Cinematic Imagery Award will go this year to writer/director and artist Terry Gilliam. Gilliam is renowned for his exceptional body of work which includes "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," "Jabberwocky," "The Meaning of Life," "Brazil," "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen," "The Fisher King," "Twelve Monkeys" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." Academy Award®-winning Production Designer Dean Tavoularis, who won the Art Direction Oscar® for the 1974 film "The Godfather Part II," and is also a five-time Academy Award® nominee ("Tucker: The Man And His Dream," "Apocalypse Now," "Brink's Job" and "The Godfather, Parts II and III") will be presented the Guild's Lifetime Achievement honor. In addition, ADG will induct the following legendary Production Designers from the past into its Hall of Fame: Hilyard Brown, Henry Bumstead, Carroll Clark, Stephen Goosson and Harry Horner.
