Martin Campbell confirms he is unlikely to direct Bond 22

30-Jan-2007 • Quantum Of Solace

Whilst answering questions about Casino Royale at the Shanghai premiere in China today, Martin Campbell dropped a bombshell that it is unlikely that he would be returning to direct the 22nd James Bond film.

Bond 22 is due out on 7th November 2008, and despite the global success of Casino Royale, Campbell confirmed he probably won't helm its closely related follow up.

Prior to this, sources close to the franchise were strongly tipping him to helm the next film, despite his previous public comments that all he had planned following Casino Royale was "to direct himself" with a good book on a beach somewhere.
