Bond fan Jonathan Ross to host BAFTA awards, Daniel Craig nominated
English television personality Jonathan Ross is to host this year's British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) ceremony Feb 11. He had been widely tipped to take over the role from previous host Stephen Fry.
Said David Parfitt, chairman of the BAFTA Film Committee: 'We are delighted that Jonathan Ross will be our master of ceremonies in the elegant surroundings of the Royal Opera House for what promises to be an outstanding celebration of cinema.'
Some of the celebrities who have confirmed their presence at the show include Kate Winslet, Forest Whittaker, Sienna Miller and Penélope Cruz. New Bond star Daniel Craig will also be present at the ceremony, said ananova.com.
Craig is nominated in the best actor category for 'Casino Royale' - the first time in the event's history that an actor has been nominated for playing James Bond.
The event will be aired on BBC TV.
