Sir Sean Connery hit by tragic death of cousin

04-May-2007 • Actor News

Sean Connery’s cousin has died of a heart attack minutes after an angry confrontation with a group of youths outside his home - reports the Daily Express.

Jimmy Connery, 69, was arguing with them about a car stereo being played loudly when he collapsed. Neighbours tried in vain to revive him.

The James Bond star phoned Mr Connery’s family after the tragedy on Tuesday.

Neighbours said there had been trouble with youths in recent months. Cars were often parked opposite Mr Connery’s house in Prestonfield, Edinburgh, with youths playing music until the early hours.

A car was taken away from the spot by police yesterday for examination.

Mr Connery, a father of two, was said by his neighbours to be a popular man. He lived with his partner Irene Bell.
An 18-year-old man has been charged following the incident.

Thanks to `Algernon` for the alert.
