Christian Bale is tipped as next James Bond

There`s been endless speculation recently suggesting that Christian Bale is almost certain to play the caped crusader in the forthcoming Batman Vs Superman film. However, an interesting, but unconfirmed, rumour has emerged from MGM / UA, the studio behind the movie, concerning another one of their high-profile franchises.

There`s some doubt that Bale will play Batman as he`s top of the list to replace Pierce Brosnan as James Bond when the Irish actor bows out of the movie series. After filming`s completed on Die Another Day, which is out in November, Brosnan will make one more 007 film ("Bond 21") - although he has speculatated "Bond 22" might be a possibility if he still feels fit for the job.

Bale, who made his name in Empire Of The Sun and, more recently, in American Psycho, would seem to be an ideal choice for the role of the superspy according to movie insiders.
