Final Aston Martin rolls off production line at original Newport Pagnell factory

20-Jul-2007 • Bond News

The final Aston Martin will roll off the production line yesterday at the factory used by the car firm for the past 53 years - reports The Sun.

Several James Bond film cars were built there, including the Goldfinger DB5 and the Vanquish in Die Another Day.

A Vanquish S Ultimate will signal the end of production at the famous plant in Newport Pagnell, Bucks.

It has been visited by the Queen and Prince Charles — an Aston owner and fan — and some of the world’s biggest celebrities.

But the company has moved production to its new headquarters at Gaydon, Warks.

The jet-black £182,095 Vanquish supercar is the last of 50 special Ultimate Edition versions to be built at Newport.

They were snapped up by Aston fans around the world but the last one will be kept by the firm.
