Sir Roger Moore laments current state of television

03-Aug-2007 • Actor News

In this week's edition of the Radio Times magazine (UK), Sir Roger Moore is interviewed about "The Saint", but also expresses views on modern TV:

"As far as I can see, television is mainly cooking programmes, finding a house, redecorating a house and terrible celebrity get me out of here shows, Big Brothers and all that. They're so crap. So boring..." he adds, "I also think the standard of speech and comedy have gone out of the window. I mean what can you compare to Morecambe & Wise today? Everything is so vulgar. It's all so repetitous..." though on a cheerier note Sir Roger is hooked on "The Bill" ("maybe it's because my father was a policeman") and concludes "But I'm also a hypochondriac so I love "Holby City" and "Casualty."

Thanks to `Sir Hilary Bray OBE` for the alert.
