Australian actress Abbie Cornish confirms Bond girl rumours were false

First she was having a fling with Reese Witherspoon's husband, then she was named as James Bond's new girl. Except, Abbie Cornish claims, someone forgot to ask her about it - reports the Courier Mail.

While the world's media practically beat down her agent's door over the alleged affair with her Stop Loss co-star Ryan Phillippe and rumours she was signed on as the next Bond girl, Cornish (pictured) has revealed she just disappeared from the celebrity radar without commenting on her real-life dramas.



For the record, Cornish - who is still not speaking about Phillippe - says the Bond reports, which began after Aussie mate Rose Byrne suggested so during an interview, were just a joke.

"It wasn't a statement as much as it was a bit of a joke - poor Rose."

Cornish's agent previously shot down the rumours back in August.
