007`s `Bottoms Up` club in Hong Kong set for auction
Bottoms Up, the iconic Hong Kong girlie bar which featured in the James Bond movie The Man With The Golden Gun, is up for sale, a
news report said Sunday.
The 36-year-old bar which played a starring role in the 1974 film used to feature topless girls but has for the past 13 years made them wear bras to conform with the city's obscenity laws.
Now the bar, believed to be one of the oldest in Hong Kong where drinking holes regularly change hands and names, is being sold by its shareholders, according to the Sunday Morning Post.
Manager Vitus Cheung told the newspaper: 'This is a great bar, which many tourists from all over the world know well. We have customers who keep coming back.
'This is a friendly place. Everyone loves the girls who work here. They are some of the friendliest in Hong Kong.'
Famous clients who have drunk in Bottoms Up in the past include George Peppard and Peter Sellers. The bar used to be in Tsim Sha Tsui on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong but crossed the harbour to Wan Chai in 2004.
