Bond 22 filming to start January 4th, Daniel Craig confirms `another great script`
In
another media interview on his PR tour for The Golden Compass, Daniel Craig has confirmed the start date for the 22nd James Bond film.
IESB: Itâs been said that there have been more men on the moon than there have been James Bond. Itâs a special place to be. Has that set in for you? And has it made the non-Bond parts more interesting for you?
DC: The story is not yet told as far as I am concerned so I donât know. Letâs talk about this when Iâve done another two. Maybe this might not be so rosy. My plan is that Iâve got this next film and weâve got to make a better one than last time. Because that is what we have to do. What it has given me a chance to do is to present me with more choices. But now, if I have time between Bond films, I want to do the films that interest me. And not necessarily getting a lot of people to see them. Thatâs the struggle. I mean, I produced or helped to produce the movie (âFlashbacks of a Foolâ) basically by convincing people to put their hand in their pocket. But that process interests me. But trying to convince people to make a film about feelings and emotions and not necessarily huge explosions and sultry women is a little bit harder to do.
IESB: Has the screenplay for Bond 22 been completed?
DC: Yes, itâs finished.
IESB: Are you apprised of everything as itâs being written/outlined?
DC: Pretty much all the way. And if not, I am on the phone asking why (laughs). This time (for Bond 22) weâve got Marc Forster on board. And weâve also got Dennis Gassner, who is the designer from âThe Golden Compassâ, so there will be a change in the look and feel of the movie. Paul (Haggis) has put another great script in. So itâs just ours to fuck up. Weâve got to get on with it. And we have started. Iâve been pulled away to do this (interview). Weâre in rehearsals now. We start (filming) January 4th.
