Unlikely rumours bubble that Bond 22 could be simply called `007`

Internet rumours are doing the rounds that the 22nd James Bond film could be titled simply "007". The theory goes that Bond has only just been assigned his number and the film follows the evolution of the character.

The root of the story comes from an apparent "slip" made by Daniel Craig on UK TV earlier this week. According to AICN, when he was asked about the title of Bond 22, he said "It's more of a number. Because the first movie dealt with him earning his 00 status and now he is 007 for the first time". He was asked if 007 is actually the title, but said he might have said too much.

Writer Paul Haggis said in a recent interview that he is unlikely to have influenced the final title decision.
