Scalextric slot car racing set planned for Bond 22 tie-in
MI6 has learned that Scalextric, the company behind the legendary slot car racing set for 50 years, is planning a special 007 edition in 2008.
An officially licenced tie-in racing set will be produced for the
22nd James Bond film, due out on 7th November 2008 (with the toy no doubt in stores in time for Christmas next year).
The company is now owned by model maker Hornby, and has featured other licenced sets around franchises such as The Italian Job, The Simpsons, Transformers, Starsky & Hutch and Batman.
Earlier this month,
Aston Martin confirmed the DBS would be driven again by Daniel Craig as 007, with the car returning from
Casino Royale in
Bond 22. There are not details yet on what the other car(s) will be.
