Trade press speculate to Bond 22 plot, Risico mentioned again

07-Jan-2008 • Quantum Of Solace

Trade paper Variety speculated on the plot of the 22nd James Bond film yesterday.

According to report, the Marc Forster-helmed film will be loosely based on the Ian Fleming short story "Risico," finding 007 (Daniel Craig) dispatched to infiltrate a drug ring flooding Britain with heroin.

Risico has frequently been rumoured as either a possible title or the bones for a film plot, even though elements of Ian Fleming's short story were already used in the 1981 film "For Your Eyes Only".

Back in August, writer Paul Haggis shot down talk of the new script using some untapped Fleming material. "It’s an original and it’s not based on any book or short story or anything that Ian Fleming had done", Haggis said. "Although it is based on Ian Fleming ideas. And it starts right after the last one, two minutes after Casino Royale this movie starts."

Thanks to `Pierce - Daniel` for the alert.
