Sir Roger Moore calls on Arts Council to save Exeter theatre

20-Jan-2008 • Actor News

He was once the nation's most famous secret agent and now he's the latest celebrity to join a growing protest against plans which could close the Northcott theatre.

Former James Bond Sir Roger Moore, along with stars of stage and screen Richard Briers, Celia Imrie and Floella Benjamin, have called for the Arts Council to rethink its decision to cuts its £547,000 a year funding to the Exeter Northcott - reports ThisIsExeter.

Without the cash the theatre looks set to close, leaving the city and much of Devon without a professional theatre - and 58 people out of work.
