Total Film magazine to release 21 covers for all 007 movies for latest issue
Total Film is celebrating the centenary of James Bond creator Ian Fleming by publishing 21 different covers - each saluting a different Bond film, reports the
Guardian.
In one of Total Film's biggest-ever promotions, covers for the April edition of the magazine, published by Future, will celebrate each film in the series, from Dr No to Casino Royale.
Later this year, the 22nd official Bond film, Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig, will be released.
The issue, on sale next Thursday, February 21, contains a 36-page section on the Bond movies which includes an interview with Craig about the new film and its much criticised title.
This section also features 20 of the greatest Bond girls and compares Fleming's novels with the film adaptations.
"We have worked closely with [Bond producers] MGM and EON to secure this fantastic set of covers and are thrilled with the result," said Simon Maxwell, group publisher of Future's film portfolio.
"Total Film works hard to make watching films an event and the legacy of Bond is an important part of our passion for film. This is one of Total Film's biggest-ever promotions and reaches across independents as well as high street chains."
Future will promote the April issue of Total Film, which costs £3.80, with point of sale material and stage a Bond poll online to stimulate interest.
But the series will not include a cover of Never Say Never Again, the 1983 Warner Bros remake of Thunderball starring Sean Connery that was produced by as a rival to the MGM series.
Last May, rival film magazine Empire, formerly an Emap title but now owned by Bauer Consumer Media, published 30 covers to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars.
