Tabloids run away with rumours on `Quantum of Solace` pre-titles sequence

Tabloid paper The Mirror is claiming today that "Quantum of Solace" will feature the longest ever pre-titles sequence for a James Bond film. Unfortunately, the paper has mis-construed some previously reported news.

The report claims, "The opening sequence of the new Bond movie will be the longest yet, stretching to 30 minutes before the credits appear."

Their "insider" said, "It will be full-on action from the first second. Craig leaps from a Harrier jump jet into a speedboat and ends up in his Aston Martin. There is also a fight between helicopters."

This contradicts earlier MI6 reports that the film will pick up 20 minutes after the events of "Casino Royale" and will feature a thrilling car chase.

As MI6 reported on February 9th, filming will take place in Italy between the resort towns of Malcesine, Tempesta and Navene. The locations have been selected for the pre-titles sequence for the film, which will see a stunning 200 KPH car chase along the banks of Lake Garda. The pursuit will feature spectacular and reckless manoeuvres in a series of tunnels, culminating with a scene where a truck brings the action to an abrupt halt and huge explosion. The production will move to Limone in order capture the remaining shots for the chase.

The boat chase mentioned in the newspaper articles actually takes place later in the film in Bolivia after 007 escapes an assassination attempt in a hotel elevator.

The longest pre-credit sequence of a Bond movie was 14 minutes in 1999's The World Is Not Enough.
