MI6 advertises for document forger

25-Mar-2008 • Bond News

Spymasters at MI6 are advertising for a forger to join Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The lucky applicant will support real-life James Bonds by whipping up fake documents and currency - reports The Sun.

The forger – or “art-worker” as MI6 puts it – will also get spy training and all Civil Service benefits including an inflation-proof pension.

A Foreign Office spokesman said yesterday: “The organisation is keen to tap into a wide and diverse pool of talent.”

The advert on the Secret Intelligence Service website promises “a fascinating work environment” at their London HQ for a person with the right “specialist skills”.

Forged documents regularly save the skin of spies like and in the Second World War British spymasters used forged cash to destabilise the economies of enemy nations.
