Event: Lunch with "The Moneypenny Diaries" author Samantha Weinberg
Venue: Calcot Manor, Gloucestershire, UK
Date: Monday 12th May 2008
Time: 12:00

Author Samantha Weinberg will be discussing her super successful series, The Moneypenny Diaries, at Calcot Manor’s Meet-the-Author lunch in the Cotswolds, this May - reports SoGlos.

The affairs and adventures of James Bond’s right-hand woman are set to come under the spotlight at Calcot Manor this May, as guests at the Cotswold hotel’s monthly Meet-the-Author lunch will be hearing from Samantha Weinberg – the brains behind The Moneypenny Diaries series of novels.

May’s lunch looks back at the mid-1960s when the British secret intelligence service is hit by a series of defection scandals. Facing considerable personal danger, Jane Moneypenny combines forces with 007 to try to smoke out a mole that she is convinced is buried deep in the heart of the Office. But as Bond is sacked and M forced into retirement, Moneypenny may have to find him alone.

Forty-two years later, Miss Moneypenny’s niece and heir, Kate Westbrook, starts to suspect that her aunt’s death was no accident. She is sure the clues to what happened lie in the search for the mole. But as she pieces them together, she realises that there are significant forces determined to prevent her.

Samantha Weinberg, frustrated spy and author of the best-selling series of Miss Moneypenny titles, will be answering questions from the floor.

Tickets: Cost £25 per person, including lunch and a wine. For more information and to reserve a place contact Calcot Manor on (01666) 890391.
