18-Jun-2008 • Literary

Sebastian Faulks has returned to the top of the book charts in teh UK after a brief hiatus at #2 last week. In its third week on release, Devil May Care (Penguin 007) sold 27,842 copies through Nielsen BookScan's Total Consumer Market last week to return to top spot, while last week's chart-topper, Martina Cole's Faces (Headline) fell to third - reports The Bookseller.

Over in Canada, Bond also got a bump as Devil May Care rose from #7 to #6 on its second week of sales.

007 was not so hot in the USA, where Sebastian Faulks' novel did not enter in to the charts as high. Devil May Care slipped from #8 to #11 on the prestigious New York Times best-sellers list, down one place to #9 on the Chicago Tribune's list for hardback fiction, and slumped from #38 to #56 in the general USA Today book chart.
