Goodbye, Mr Bond - `Devil May Care` slides out of many Best Seller charts in USA

After four weeks on release, the new James Bond continuation novel "Devil May Care" by Sebastian Faulks is barely clinging on to its Best Seller status in the highly prized New York Times list.

The paper ranks the book at #15 in the top 15 best sellers for hardback fiction across the USA. The New Your Times has ranked the 007 outing from #8 to #11 to #15 since release.

Worse news follows for US publisher Doubleday in the Wall Street Journal, where "Devil May Care" has slipped off the best seller list for fiction completely, after initially ranking at #9 before sliding to #13.

007 is also missing in action from national newspaper USA Today, which tracks overall book sales in the country independent of category. "Devil May Care" has fallen out of the Top 150 chart, after tracking from #38 to #56 to #80 after three weeks on release.

Reviews of the novel, which was released to celebrate the Ian Fleming centenary, have been mixed:
