James Bond vs Paris Hilton at a theatre near you, November 7th
James Bond and Paris Hilton will face-off at the US box-office later this year as the 22nd film in the 007 series "Quantum of Solace" goes up against "Repo! The Genetic Opera" on November 7th.
The oft-delayed musical will open against 007 according to reports from LionsGate Films.
The competition should be no match for 007, though. Back in 1997, the second Pierce Brosnan movie "Tomorrow Never Dies" went up against "Titanic" (the biggest ever movie at the global box office), and unlike the titular boat, Bond didn't sink and scooped $333m.
In 2006, Daniel Craig's first outing as 007 in "Casino Royale" was released against "Happy Feat" in the USA, where the animated penguins beat Bond at the domestic box-office. But 007 was ultimately victorious at the worldwide box-office, taking $594m.
Bond's main competition this year will come from the sequel to animated hit "Madagascar" from DreamWorks. The 2005 original took $532m worldwide, $193m of which was from the US - more than "Casino Royale" took a year later.
