TND`s Michelle Yeoh has tough directing debut

30-Jul-2002 • Bond News

Ananova are reporting that Michelle Yeoh (Wai Lin in "Tomorrow Never Dies") has had a tough debut as a director:

James Bond star Michelle Yeoh says filming on location in Tibet meant monster headaches for cast and crew.

The Malaysian-born actress says many were affected by altitude sickness while shooting The Touch.

The Tomorrow Never Dies star makes her debut as a producer with the film.

It mixes action, martial arts, romance and thriller genres in a tale about a family of acrobats and their search for a mystical Buddhist artifact.

Yeoh and other members of cast and crew were afflicted by altitude sickness while filming at Namtso Lake, also known as Heaven`s Lake, which is 15,475 ft above sea level and a four-or-five-hour drive from the Tibetan capital, Lhasa.

"It was like a vice squeezing your head. No matter what you did, nothing helped," said Yeoh.
