Daniel Craig defends the civil service
James Bond star Daniel Craig has come to the defence of the civil service in the run-up to the release of the latest Bond installment, Quantum of Solace - reports
The Telegraph.
In an interview with Empire magazine, Craig insisted the civil service would always come to the rescue should something go wrong with British politics or society.
He said: "You have the monarchy, you have government and then you have the civil service. The reason the civil service remains a non-political organisation is that if the shit hits the fan, like goose-stepping Nazi bastards, you hope the civil service will turn round and go 'We've got it covered.' That's Bond."
In Quantum of Solace, Bond picks up where he left off in Casino Royale, in a vengeful mood after the death of his lover. 'The bloodiest Bond ever' sees 007 take on a villain who is trying to corner the market on water.
Producer Barbara Broccoli has insisted the film will appeal to families, saying: "We make family adventure films... sadism for the entire family... We always need to bear in mind that it is a family tradition."
