`Goldfinger` to be shown at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this week to launch Ken Adam exhibition
"Goldfinger" and "Dr. Strangelove" will be screened at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Friday 30th May 2003 at 7 p.m., in the Academy`s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
Presented as part of the Academy Standards series, both films showcase the production design talents of Ken Adam, whose work is the subject of a new exhibition in the Academy Galleries.

"Goldfinger" is one of seven Bond films that Adam has worked on. In addition to the sets, he has been responsible for designing the films gadgetry and vehicles. In the case of this film, that includes Bond`s amazing Aston Martin. Norman Wanstall won an Academy Award for the film`s Sound Effects.
The Academy`s Grand Lobby and Fourth Floor Galleries will have special viewing hours on the evening of the screenings. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to experience "Moonraker, Strangelove and Other Celluloid Dreams: The Visionary Art of Ken Adam" from 5 to 7 p.m., then during the break between films and also after the conclusion of "Goldfinger."
Regular viewing hours are Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends, noon to 6 p.m. Admission to all Academy exhibitions is free. Tickets for the "Dr. Strangelove" and "Goldfinger" screening are $5 for the general public and $3 for Academy members. One ticket admits the holder to either or both films. They may be purchased in advance at the Academy during regular business hours, by mail, or on the night of the screening, if still available, when the doors open at 6 p.m.
