Chinese box-office shaken and stirred as 9 in 10 tickets go to `Quantum`
James Bond's latest outing "Quantum of Solace" has shaken and stirred Chinese auds, netting 11.4 million yuan ($1.67 million) on its opening day, the biggest opening day for a foreign pic this year - reports
Variety.
It was the highest opening day ever for a movie, foreign or domestic, released in November and was shown on more than 1,000 screens, the biggest number of screens for a foreign film.
Pic is second only to "Spider-Man 3" for highest Wednesday opening for a foreign movie, and the latest installment of Bond took in 44% more than its predecessor, "Casino Royale," did on its opening day. Indeed, "Quantum" accounted for 90.3% of China's total B.O. on its opening day.
