Jamie Foxx would like to be the first black 007
Following Barack Obamaâs election as the first African-American president in U.S. history, 007 star Daniel Craig suggested it was time for the first black James Bond - reports
MSNBC.
But if the appearance of the legendary superspy is about to change, who would be the ideal candidate to fill the role?
In a poll conducted by AccessHollywood.com, viewers said Will Smith was their overwhelming favorite to step into the role, giving Smith 56 percent of the vote.
Coming in second was Djimon Hounsou with 21 percent, while Terrence Howard finished third (14 percent) and Diddy fourth (9 percent).
But one star that wasnât included in the poll, who would love the chance to tackle the role of 007, is Jamie Foxx.
âOf course!â Foxx told Access, when asked if he could see himself playing the part. âIâd put a little swing in it. A little hip-hop, you know.â
And while Foxx said the British accent isnât a problem for him, there is one key Bond component heâd have to change.
âMaybe not drinking martinis, but drinking some Hennessey maybe,â Foxx joked. âBond would drink dark liquor.â
In fact, the star of such films as âMiami Vice,â âRayâ and âCollateralâ said heâs already seen fans go crazy over the idea of having a black Bond.
âI was in London and I had to give an award to Daniel Craig⦠and I went up and said, âBond. Black Bond.â And everybody just lost it,â Foxx added. âBlack Bond would be cool.â
