Bond composer David Arnold to switch on Christmas lights in Luton
Thousands of lights on a huge Christmas tree outside Luton & Dunstable Hospital will be switched on by James Bond soundtrack composer David Arnold, reports
Luton Today.
The 30ft tree's 4,000 twinkling lights will be switched on at 6pm on December 3, for the hospital's festive Light Up A Life campaign to raise money for the hospital's new neo-natal intensive care unit. The hospital wants to raise £1.5 million to kit out the new £7 million unit, which will open in 2010.
One lucky little patient from the hospital's children's ward will be chosen to help Luton-born composer Mr Arnold, and there will be tea, mince pies and Christmas carols sung by choirs.
In return for donations people can purchase lights on the tree as a gift or in memory of a loved one. They cost £5, or three for £10, from fundraiser Sarah Newby on 01582 718043 or from the hospital's website.
