New James Bond museum expected to open in Spring 2009
Keswick's new James Bond museum could be welcoming its first 007 fans by next spring - reports the
Times & Star.
The museum, at the former Caterite building on the Southey Hill estate, is the brainchild of Bond collector Peter Nelson, who also runs the Cars of the Stars museum in the Lakes town.
National Park planners have given the go-ahead for the scheme.
Mr Nelson said he was working day and night to get the museum up and running.
He said: âWork has started and I am hoping that the museum will be open by next spring. I speak to lots of people who are James Bond fans and I think people might travel from all over the world to see this collection. I want them to enjoy the wow factor.â
Mr Nelson has around 25 Bond vehicles and a number of props that came from the 007 films.
He added: âI have lots of things that have never been displayed before.â
Among the Bond cars to go on show will be the original Lotus from The Spy Who Loved Me, which Mr Nelson bought for £30,000 eight years ago.
