`Quantum of Solace` game coming to Japan in March

Square Enix has made perhaps its biggest move yet in its move towards becoming a more international publisher. The company announced today that it has signed with Activision Blizzard to publish Quantum of Solace to the Japanese market - reports IGN.

This latest Bond to game adaptation will be published in Japan on March 26 simultaneously for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS2 and Wii. The high-end systems will carry a 8,190 yen price tag, with the other two versions going for 7,140 yen.

Of course, Quantum of Solace has been available here in America for months now. The timing of the Japanese release may seem a bit late, but over there, Solace only just saw release to theaters last week. The movie, and the game, carry the Japanese name of 007: Nagusame no Houshuu.

Square Enix has been announcing a steady stream of international developments since late last year. Recently, the company formed a partnership with Ubisoft that will see it distribute Ubisoft games in Japan; Ubisoft's Japanese office will still do localization, publishing, and marketing. Square Enix will also be giving a Japanese release to Major Minor's March on WiiWare following a similar English-to-Japanese localization late last year for Lost Winds.
