`Quantum` fails to land BAFTA awards in two nominated categories

08-Feb-2009 • Quantum Of Solace

The 22nd James Bond adventure, "Quantum of Solace", had landed on the shortlist of two categories - Sound and Special Visual Effects - but failed to scoop either gong at tonight's award ceremony in London.

"Quantum" lost to "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" for Special Visual Effects, and "Slumdog Millionaire" for Sound.

Back in 2006, "Casino Royale" scooped the Sound BAFTA.

Daniel Craig presented the Leading Actress award at the ceremony, which went to Kate Winslet. Craig spoke briefly to the BBC before the event (click here for video).

TV coverage in the U.K., which included the addition of a red carpet standalone show for the first time, was extended across three BBC channels - BBC One, Two and Three.
