Pierce Brosnan builds high-tech home Q would be proud of

01-Mar-2009 • Actor News

As James Bond, he handled his fair share of gadgets. Now Pierce Brosnan is carrying his love of modern technology into his personal life - reports the Daily Mail.

The 55-year-old actor is building a £6.5 million mansion in Malibu, California, which will be packed with enough electronic wizardry to make Q’s eyes light up.

A source said: ‘Pierce has always loved technology and playing Bond only cemented that love. He says this will be his dream house and it will have every possible boy’s toy imaginable, plus a few for his wife.

‘It will have a high-definition home theatre which Pierce says will rival anything out there for clarity and sound.

‘And the security system is going to revolve around pressure sensors in the flooring and infrared lights.’

The two-storey building – on a stretch known as Billionaire’s Row, where neighbours include Cher and Mel Gibson – will have a basement gym, music room and games room.

The master bedroom will have blinds that rise at the touch of a button to reveal ocean views, with adjoining separate bathrooms and walk-in closets for Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye Smith, 46.

The actor’s wardrobe will contain a separate compartment for his cufflinks and an electronic revolving tie holder.

There is also an Olympic-sized pool, an office, an art studio and a library that comes complete with a walk-in cigar humidor.

The entire compound will have wireless and Bluetooth connectivity and flatscreen televisions built into the wall of most rooms.

A touch sensor garage will store his Range Rover and £75,000 Maserati Gran Tourismo sports car.

The source added: ‘Pierce will be able to open the main gates and the garage doors while he is still driving down the freeway. Everything will be linked to a central computer that he can control even when he is outside the house.’

The house should also be green – Brosnan will use eco-friendly building products and install solar panels to provide electricity.
