Tabloids tout baseless story of `Slumdog` actress for Bond girl role
First it was "Slumdog Millionaire" director Danny Boyle that the tabloids
erroneously linked to the 23rd James Bond film, and since that rumour has been shot down by the man himself, the papers are turning to the Oscar-winning film's cast.
TABLOID RUMOUR.
According to
The Daily Mirror: "Freida Pintoâs next film role could be as a Bond girl in the new 007 movie. The 24-year-old actress recently celebrated success with Oscar-winning flick Slumdog Millionaire and, according to reports today, Freida has now been asked to screen test for the next James Bond. Apparently, Bond bosses first spotted Freida when they were casting for Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig, in 2008, but she was too young to play his love interest at the time."
The paper also says, "Danny Boyle is tipped to direct the new film, which will improve her chances of bagging the coveted role". Even a simple Google search would have informed the hack that Boyle has
publicly stated he has not been approached and has no interest in the job, despite being a Bond fan.
