1.5m viewers watch Casino Royale debut on Dutch TV

James Bond fans in The Netherlands were treated to the free-to-air broadcast premiere of "Casino Royale" over the Easter weekend.

Daniel Craig's debut as 007 aired on SBS6 at 20:30 on Monday 13th April 2009. Due to the film's 12+ rating in the country, it had to be aired after the 8pm watershed.

According to Dutch television ratings, 1,564,000 viewers tuned in to watch the 2006 blockbuster.

Back in May 2005, "Die Another Day" scoped and average of 1.73m viewers with a peak of 2.44m at its highest point. It's numbers were helped by a break for the national news.
