Rare first edition Ian Fleming novel donated for charity auction
A rare edition of a James Bond novel, donated to a Watford charity shop, is set to go under the hammer to raise money for Oxfam - reports the
Watford Observer.
Rare books plucked from the bookshelves in Oxfam charity shops across England will be auctioned on Tuesday to raise £40,000 for the charity.
And among the items will be a first edition of Ian Flemingâs Thunderball and a rare book on the History of Java, by Stamford Raffles, both of which were donated in Watford.
Last year and Oxfam auction sold a book featuring the very first appearance in print of Sherlock Holmes sold for £15,500. The book had been found in a shop in Harrogate, Yorkshire.
