Two more Bond villains land honours from Her Majesty
In addition to
yesterday's news that Christopher Lee (who played Scaramanga in the 1973 James Bond film "The Man With The Golden Gun") was to receive a knighthood in the Queen's birthday honours, two more Bond villains have been named:
Jonathan Pryce will receive an CBE, a Golden Globe-nominated actor who has had roles in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, "Ronin," and the 1997 James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies." He won a best actor award in 1995 at Cannes for his part in the movie "Carrington."
Actor Alan Cumming will receive an OBE, or Order of the British Empire, awarded for notable achievement in any field. He was recognized for "services to film, theater and the arts and to activism for equal rights for the gay and lesbian community." Cumming played Boris Grishenko in the 1995 film "GoldenEye".
