Megan Fox and Bond 23 - the rumour that was short lived, and planted

24-Jul-2009 • Skyfall

Contrary to a certain rumor circulating on the internet yesterday, Megan Fox - or at least her publicist - would like you to know the 23 year-old actress did not recently turn down an offer to play opposite Daniel Craig in the 23rd James Bond film. But, you know, she'd probably totally would have said "yes" if she had been asked - reports UGO.

Appearing yesterday in the UK tabloid The Daily Star, it was reported Fox had passed on the chance to play a love-interest to 007, with a "source" explaining, "[Megan] would rather be a more central part of the movie." Columnist Jessica Brown added, "Instead, [Megan] will play a green giant in a flick about The Incredible Hulk's cousin" (a reference to Fox's rumored involvement in an adaptation of "She-Hulk").

Discrediting the specious report nobody noticed or cared about anyway, Fox's publicist told People.com earlier today, "The report about Megan Fox turning down a Bond movie is completely not true. There have been no discussions nor any offers. Megan is a fan of the Bond movies."

She's "A fan of the Bond movies?"

The People story also happens to mention Megan will be attending Comic-Con this weekend to promote her upcoming films, "Jonah Hex" and "Jennifer's Body."

Hmm.... Megan's rep - who isn't mentioned by name in the People report - couldn't have possibly planted the "Bond" story on some obscure English gossip website, just to get free press by denying his/her own rumor, could they? Naw....that would be way too obvious.
