`You Only Live Twice` experiences a ratings slump as Bond suffers at the hands of MI5 again
Monday night`s screening of "You Only Live Twice" on UK television marked the low point of ITV1`s recent Monday Night Bond season.
Only 4.8 million viewers tuned in to Sean Connery`s fifth 007 adventure on ITV1 between 8.30pm and 10pm, a 23% share of the overall audience, with ratings dropping to a lowly 4 million after the news.
BBC1`s more modern MI5 based spy drama "Spooks" continued to perform well against Mr Bond with 6.6 million, or one in three viewers, tuning in between 9pm and 10pm to see the team tackle a Colombian drugs gang with links to the British establishment.
Next Monday ITV1 are screening "Diamonds Are Forever" against the final episode of "Spooks" on BBC1.
