Donald Trump counts on support from 007 in golf controversy

Billionaire Donald Trump has called on the services of 007 in a celebrity war of words over his golf resort plan - reports the Sunday Express.

A row erupted last week after Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton compared the tycoon’s plans for the Menie estate in Aberdeenshire to the Highland Clearances, with some homeowners facing eviction.

But yesterday Mr Trump boasted of having the backing of Sir Sean Connery.

He said: “Ms Swinton’s comments trivialise a tragic event in Scottish history.

“In any event, I have the support of Sir Sean and this very small group of dissidents have Tilda Swinton. I’ll take that deal any day.”
